Llewellyn, Malcolm A R - Chairman
Malcolm is an Operations Director of PT Boral Indonesia - leading a project to build a new USD 400 million fully integrated cement plant in Java. Previously, he was General Manager and CEO with Blue Chip International with experience in the cement, building and construction, agriculture, light transport and the environmental industry. He has experience of Project construction and management, recruiting, staffing and training for new and revamped projects, in UK, Asia and Africa, along with fund raising and contract negotiating and venture capital fund raising in the UK, also in management of 19 different operations over 45 years, including total project implementation in Indonesia and Brunei Darussalem, and international aid secondment in Tanzania. His experience in Indonesia is over 29 years in Cement and agricultural projects. He is also the President of Jakarta St David's Loyal Society.
Gunawan, Maxi

Maxi Gunawan has various experience businesses in the oil & commodity trading, banking, agriculture, property, transportation as well as food & beverage sectors.
Previously, he holds various position as Commissioner & Executives in the Bakrie Group started with PT Bakrie Brothers, Mindo Petroleum Co. Ltd (HK), Mindo Commodity Trading Co. Ltd. (HK), Permindo Oil Trading Co. Ltd. (HK), PT Bank Nusa Internasional, PT Bank Nasional, he has long experiences for 10 years with ABN Bank in The Netherlands and Indonesia (RBS Bank now) and 2 years with Panin Bank as executive.
He also holds the Position in the Government Official as Honorary Consul of Iceland in Indonesia, which he holds the position up till now.
At present, he holds position as Chairman and Shareholder in the family business, which engages in Media & Publishing, Sheraton Hotel, Agriculture, Healing & Wellness Spa, Creative Communication, Food & Beverage.
In Food & Beverage sector he is the Deputy Chairman and Shareholder in PT Trans Ice under the Transcorp Group.
In the Sport Organization, as President of Indonesia Bowling Federation (2001-present), as Executive Member of Asian Bowling Federation, Executive member of Indonesia Tennis Federation, Indonesia Martial Arts Federation. His hobbies are bowling, golf and reading.
In business organization, he holds position in the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia) as Chairman of Kadin Indonesia British & West Europe Bilateral Committee; he was the Chairman of Kadin Indonesia British Committee and holds the Co-Chairmanship of Indonesia British Business Council.
Slack, John - Hon. Treasurer
John is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and has been working in Indonesia and the Asia region for over 30 years. He is presently the Business Director of the British International School in Jakarta and previously worked in senior finance and corporate roles in a variety of industries in Jakarta including audit, public accounting, mining, banking and finance, power generation, real estate , plantations and automotive. John is married with three children, the eldest is now at University in Bristol.
Knight, David - Hon. Secretary
David was educated in South Africa and the United Kingdom. Postgraduate training included an MSc in Agricultural Economics and a Diploma in Advanced Food Technology from Foodnet UK and the Leatherhead Research Association. Further professional training has included Risk Management and Internal Audit Procedures in manufacturing and processing. In 2000, he gained a higher-level teaching certificate with credit from the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health UK. Professional memberships include Member of the Institute of Management, Member of the Institute of Personnel and Development and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
Working for over 29 years in Floriculture, Agriculture, Horticulture and the related Environment issues he has gained a clear and unique understanding of the major supply continents of the world. Experience has been gained in England, South America, South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, Senegal, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso and Mali and for the past nine years South East Asia, specifically in Indonesia, Cambodia,Malaysia and Vietnam.
David has held CEO management roles with major international companies in Ghana and South Africa. He was an invited member of a joint World Bank, and Ghanaian Government Committee created to regenerate Ghanaian agricultural policy and practice.
David is the Chairman of the Food and Agriculture Sector Group and represents the Chamber on the EU Food and Agricultural Market Access Committee.
Galvin, John
John Galvin is Technical Advisor for Guinness Indonesia. Indonesia is the 6th largest market in the world.
John joined Guinness Germany in 1997 and worked in various sales and marketing roles before joining Guinness Continental Europe in 2004 as their European Marketing Manager. In 2006, John joined Guinness Asia Pacific Ltd (GAPL) in Singapore, a Joint Venture between Diageo and APB, where he led the marketing development of Joint Venture brands until June 2008, when he joined PT Gitaswara Indonesia.
A multi-linguist, John speaks 4 languages - English, German, French and Gaelic – fluently, and is working on learning Bahasa Indonesia. In his spare time he enjoys traveling and reading. To work up a sweat, he prefers football, running, snowboarding and golfing.
Pranatadjaja, A.A. - Human Resources
A.A. Pranatadjaja, or Tonny as he is usually called, has held various positions at PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk for 34 years where he was in charge of manufacturing, personnel and external relations. He was part of the Board of Directors' team for ten years. He retired from the board of directors of PT Unilever Indonesia TBK in 2003 and was appointed as its Corporate Relations advisor, a position he holds until the present. He is also President of the ASEAN Cosmetic Association and President of the Indonesian Cosmetics Companies Association, member of the Board of British Chamber and member of the Advisory Boards of various associations including Yayasan Kehati , Castle Asia and the Indonesian School of Management of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). He is now as President Director of PT Protocol One, a business consultant with focus on Making Investments Work.
Arnold, John
John Arnold is currently the President Director of PT. APCO Worldwide and has been located in Indonesia since 1983. Prior to joining APCO Worldwide in 2007, he had been a senior partner at Ernst & Young in Jakarta and had earlier worked with Ernst & Young in Singapore and in London. For long a leader in the Indonesian business community, John was chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia for more than 10 years until 2007. He has served variously as first vice-chairman of the International Business Chamber and as a board member of Eurocham. From 2002-04 he was chairman of Britain in Asia Pacific, the regional association of British chambers of commerce and business associations. He is a member of the Council of Trustees of the British International School in Jakarta. A champion of responsible business, he was a founder of Yayasan Indonesia Business Links established as a resource centre for corporate social responsibility. In 2002, he was awarded the OBE for services to British-Indonesian commercial relations.
Younger, Scott
With degrees in Engineering from Glasgow, UC Berkeley and Hong Kong, Scott is a recognized leader in infrastructure development across Asia, having held a range of senior academic, consulting and business development roles in Hong Kong, Thailand and Indonesia for the last 30 years. He has served as project manager and consultant in many World Bank and ADB funded road and water sector programs, and was Team Leader for the UK and World Bank funded, award winning Master's Degree program in Highway and Transport Engineering at the Institute of Technology, Bandung. He serves as President Commissioner of one of Indonesia's few listed infrastructure companies, PT Nusantara Infrastructure Tbk and as Commissioner for the highly successful East Bali Poverty Project, a model in sustainable development. In 2003 he was awarded the OBE for services to civil engineering and British business interests in Indonesia. Dr. Younger is President Commissioner of Glendale Partners, a leading infrastructure, natural resources, renewable energy and financial consulting firm based in Jakarta, Indonesia, and Vice-Chairman of the European Chamber of Commerce and of the International Business Chambers.
Braithwaite , David
David is President Director of PT Q Energy South East Asia , a management consultancy which he co-founded in 2004, and which provides a range of commercial consulting services to companies operating mainly in the Indonesian energy and mining sectors. He has over 30 years experience in the international energy industry. He spent over 20 years working for BP Plc (formerly British Petroleum) and moved to Indonesia in 1995. He then spent 8 years working as an advisor to the Indonesian government, 3 years with the Director General of Mines on coal policy, followed by 5 years as an energy policy advisor to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources during which time he was closely involved in the de-regulation of the oil and gas , and electricity sectors. Before moving to Indonesia, his international career included postings in the Philippines, Spain and Belgium. David has a degree in Business Studies and is a member of Institute of Marketing in UK.
Burke, David
David is currently the Executive Vice President of PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (TELKOM), Indonesia’s dominant telecommunications provider and single largest publicly listed company with over 90 Million subscribers, where he is responsible for Strategic Investment & Corporate Planning for the Telkom Group Companies. David was formerly the COO/ Board Director of PT Broadband Multimedia Tbk (Kabelvision), Indonesia’s largest cable television provider. Prior to joining Kabelvision he was the CEO and Founder of PT Indonesia Media Technologies. David also served as the President Director and COO of PT M-Web Indonesia from 2000 to 2003 during which the company established over 4000 PC’s in Internet Centers on University Campuses throughout Indonesia. From 1995 to 1998 David worked for Bank Bira Group in both Bira Aset Manajemen and also at the Bank as the Vice President of Business Development, he was then recruited by Indoexchange.com as a Chief Operating Officer from 1999 to 2000 to take the company to IPO. David has been a leading public figure for the development and expansion of the Internet, Data and Mobile Technology in Indonesia over the past 8 years. Educated in England at Shebbear College (Devon) he holds a Degree in Business Economics from LSE, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
Dewanto, Heru
Heru Dewanto is Vice Chairman of IABA (Indonesia Association of British Alumni). He was graduated from Universitat Innsbruck Austria and the University of Leeds with scholarships from ÖAD and British Chevening. Heru has developed his entire career in infrastructure area. He is now Director of Griyaton Indonesia, a major pre-cast concrete industry in the country. He is Vice President Commisioner of Sarana Jaya, a DKI Jakarta owned property company and President Commissioner of Rekainfra International, an infrastructure advisory company. He is also the Secretary General of the Institution of Engineers Indonesia and fellows of AAET (ASEAN Academy of Engineering and Technology).
Zachrie, Ridwan
DR. Ridwan Zachrie currently serves as Managing Director of Recapital Group, one of the leading Investment Banking in the region. He was working before with Citibank, HSBC and Bank Mandiri.
He was awarded British Chevening Awards and obtained master degree in economic from LSE. He's continuing study up to doctorate level.
In organization, Ridwan is the Chairman of Permanent Committee for Governance&Business Ethics, and Chairman of Private Enterprises for Anti-Bribery Movement in KADIN and recently been appointed as UK Education Ambassador.
He was awarded the Asia Pacific Young Business Leader and UK Business Award in 2008, HR Potential Leader 2009 and HR Inspirative Leader 2010.
Fenton, Nick
Nick Fenton is President Director of PT Nusa Prima Persada International Consulting, a company he established in 2006 providing project management services to the construction industry. A graduate in Civil Engineering from Leeds University, Nick is a Chartered Engineer and has spent the last 25 years of his career overseas, living in Indonesia since 1988. Working with various organisations including British Gas, Brunei Shell, Alstom Transport he has been involved in the management of a large variety of projects and in recent years has audited and provided solutions to a number of those projects facing difficulties.
Hwang, Joseph
Joseph Hwang is a director at PT Gikoko Kogyo Indonesia, a clean air and biomass energy technology company, based in Jakarta. Educated at the Zhonghwa Tongwen School in Kobe and Lancing College, Joseph received Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and Production Management from Hertford University, Master of Science degree from Cranfield University in Industrial Engineering & Production Management in June 1987. He joined Tullett and Tokyo Forex International in the wake of "Black Monday" in the City of London and was a member of Association of Futures Brokers. He serves on the KADIN's Environment Conservation committee's Clean Development Mechanisms group and speaks Japanese, Mandarin and Hokkien. Joseph is also a member of The East India, Devonshire, Sports and Public Schools Club, Jakarta and Jagorawi Golf Clubs.
Cheshire, Stephen
Steve Cheshire is the chief airlines representative (Indonesia) for Rolls-Royce and international aero engines (iae). And previously have represented both Rolls-Royce and iae in USA, West Africa, Saudi Arabia, Germany and more recently New Zealand.
Knowles, David
David is the President Director and Principle Consultant with Opus Management. David has been managing and training HR Management in the USA, UK, Indonesia, and other South East Asia countries for over two decades. He brings line manager and consulting experience to the design and management of seminars and consulting projects. David is fluent in Bahasa Indonesia.
Clarke, Deborah
Debbie has been Director for Trade & Investment at the British Embassy Jakarta since July 2009. Before that she was Private Secretary to the Minister for Trade and Investment in London. Prior to that she was Consul General and Director of Trade and Investment, in Vietnam, Head of the South East Asia Unit at the then British Trade International in London and Deputy Director General of the British Trade & Cultural Office in Taipei. Other assignments have included an attachment to the British Consulate General in Chicago and stints on the then Department of Trade & Industry's US, Taiwan and German desks.

Sattar, Aziz Adam
Aziz is a British expatriate and joined IBS Group in January 2006, with over 14 years of experience working in both Marine and the Oil & Gas sectors for both insurance broking and claims. He has previously worked for international insurance brokers in London, Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta where he was an Account Executive for Shell Malaysia, Vietsovpetro, Salamander Energy and Premier Oil and various marine fleets. Prior to insurance broking, Aziz worked in manufacturing and offshore engineering.

Watters, Brian Campbell
Brian is the joint founder of Assessments Group Indonesia (AGI) and has resided in Indonesia for over 14 years. A former UK police officer he graduated with an honours degree in law from the University of Hull before serving for 25 years with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office specialising in security and intelligence affairs. He served the British Government in Europe, Africa and in Asia served in the British High Commissions in Singapore and Sri Lanka and the British Embassy in Jakarta. He has also served for 13 years as a Governor of the Jakarta International School representing the British Ambassador. Additionally he is the Vice Chair of the US State Department Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) in Indonesia.

Davies, Keith
Keith took up his present post as Country Director of the British Council in Indonesia in January 2009. He has worked with the British Council for 33 years - in London, Bahrain, Malaysia, Thailand, China and most recently Vietnam. He is accompanied in Indonesia by his wife Christine, daughter Rebecca and Vietnamese dog, Milo. His background is in the arts – literature, theatre and film – although he has spent much of his career working in education. He was born in Cheshire and is a lifelong Everton supporter !
Preeston, Haslam Grey
Haslam Preeston is General Manager of PT Jakarta Land, a joint venture between Hongkong Land and Centra Cipta Murdaya, which focuses on commercial property development and management. Haslam has been with Jardine Matheson since 2001, occupying a variety of management roles in Greater China, before being seconded to Hongkong Land in 2008. Prior to this, his previous two postings were as General Manager of Jardine Motors’s Mercedes-Benz dealership in Macau, and in Hong Kong as Executive Assistant to the Managing Director of the Jardine Group.
Whilst in Macau, Haslam was the founding Treasurer of the British Business Association and an Executive Board Member of the German Business Association.
Haslam grew up in Hong Kong and has served as an infantry officer in the British Army. He has a BA from King’s College, London and an MA in Chinese Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies, London after which he attended National Taiwan Normal University.
